Image-Line has released the final version of FL Studio 8.
FL Studio (former Fruity Loops) has become a very popular DAW (digital audio workstation) among beginners as well as professionals because of its flexibility and user-friendliness.
New features include OGG-support, the Slicex sample slicer, the FL Synthmaker, and the Fruity Limiter.
The newly started Hiphop producer website Hiphopmakers.com has interviewed NFX - the guy behind the hugely successful FL Studio community Warbeats.com which houses over 45,000 members.
Warbeats.com, which was started in 2005, has lately become very popular among FL Studio beginners.
NFX answers questions such as why he chose FL Studio as his main focus, what his objective is for the site, and whether or not he raps.
This time I created my own Youtube video (my first Youtube video) for how to play Candy Shop by 50 cent on Piano. Yes, the clip is full of shameless plugs to this site, but I’m just a poor college student who’s trying to get by. Anyways, here’s the piano sheet music notes and piano roll notation. Hope you like it.
I just started classes this week and my schedule brutal! I’m taking 5 courses, one of which is 9 hours a week. I’ll try squeeze in some time to post another tutorial pretty soon. Let me know what you want to see in a tutorial.
Apple revealed its new iPod line, and wow are they pretty damn amazing. The new iPod touch brings you the sexy iPod touchscreen experience of the iPhone and comes armed with wi-fi. The regular iPod has been made smaller and renamed the iPod classic and gets a whopping 160 gig hard drive, which is a pretty good sized external hard drive itself.
I head back to the streets of West Philly today to continue school at UPenn. Ok, UPenn campus is not really the streets, but it’s right next to it. My flight from Seattle is at 12:20pm PST and I arrive in Philly at 10:10pm EST. Looonnngg flight. So no posts this Monday, but I’ll add new stuff tomorrow.
Jake Ludington’s MediaBlab shows you how to make your own microphone pop screen for $9.66. These generally go for around $30 if you were to buy one. This is an excellent project to try for your home studio especially if you are a vocalist. It helps get rid of the spiking “s”, “pfts”, and “ch” sounds that can ruin a track.
One of the bigger hassles in editing voice audio tracks is cleaning up loud pops in the recording where plosive ‘p’ and ‘b’ sounds cause a burst of volume. These are easily avoided by placing a screen between the person speaking or singing and the microphone.
Another dope video on Youtube showing you how to play Forgot About Dre on piano by ItzDiPzBaby, but again does not show you the notes. I’ve laid out the notes for you all both in sheet music notation and piano roll notation. Enjoy!
