10 Resources for Free Sounds

If you’re digging through the web for free sounds, here’s a list of 10 sites that will keep you busy. Most are music focused, and some are more general huge databases of sound effects with music sections. Enjoy!
- Free Sound Project – Huge collaborative database of user uploaded Creative Commons licensed sounds. They emphasize sounds only and not complete songs. Geared towards music.
- Find Sounds.com – Search engine for all kinds of sounds, not just music related sounds.
- Sound Snap.com – “Online sound library and community for sound designers and producers.” Houses all types of sounds with music loops and music samples being their largest categories.
- ccMixter – A site focused on remixing and sharing. Huge collection of samples and user created songs.
- Sample Swap.org – Forum with over 4.6 gigs of drum loops, melodic loops, instruments, vocals, and remix tracks.
- Flashkit.com – Site geared towards Adobe Flash developers, but also has a great collection of sounds that can be downloaded in .wav, .mp3, or flashtrak format.
- Synthmania Famous Sounds – Interesting compilation of loops and instruments used in popular songs. Includes loops like James Brown’s overly sampled funky drummer and 808 drums. Great for chopping up.
- Historical Speeches – Pretty big archive of speeches in mp3 format. Great place for finding quotes in sound format.
- Synthzone.com – Huge list of links to site with drum and rhythm loops for download.
- Elektron-users.com – Electronic music site with a download section containing samples and loops.

You can get some really good free drum kits from the Step Ya Game Up Drum Samples at http://drumsandsounds.com/free-drum-sounds/ There are also some beat making tutorials using logic.

I would like to know if you send by email Fl studio 8 tutorials. and if so . how do I get them? I have fl studio 8 producers edition and I really would like to know how to produce music . I already know how to make beats using the step sequencer.but I dont know how to make a complete song using the piano roll or the playlist. so any info. would helpful.you can send them to and the 55 in my email address is not only part of my email address. I`m a year older than that ! I`m 56 years old with an insatiable hunger to create hip,hop music . I used to be a performer with a group called toast of the town. but since I got hurt all my time is spent trying to make up an online business. so I decided to produce music as a way of creating an income and my first love music ! so lo and behold music production !
