bass lines
i wanna learn how to produce some funky ass bass lines or some heavy deep bass lines. I don't even know where to get started though. so any help would be much appreciated.

i think he means he doesnt know where to start in making bass lines. i don't know your level of knowledge in music, but it would be helpful to do a search on "music theory" and read up a several articles. you'll get an understanding on how songs are put together and what notes fit with what.

Messing around is also a good thing to do in order to familiarize yourself with bass sounds.

my advice would be to make sure that you have a good surround system hooked up to your computer and jus experiment with fruity loops or reason. this way you'll get to hear exactly what each sound is going to sound like and you won't have to assume. fruity loops comes pre loaded with some decent bass sounds and the option to use the piano keyboard to lower or higher the octave definitely is a good thing to mess with
