Best Beats From The Chronic (1992)

I think the best beat on the Chronic 1992 album was "Stranded On Death Row". It had that kind of a dark feeling and that's what made it hot. I'd say maybe the 2nd best was "Fuck Wit' Dre Day (And Everybody's Celebratin')" and the 3rd place would take "Nuthin' But A 'G' Thang". The 4th place would be the beat from "Lyrical Gangbang" and the 5th place would be the one from "The Day When Niggaz Took Over". What y'all think?

Yeah...That was a milestone for the entire industry.....when Dre dropped The Chronic. Personally...from 1991-1994 were my all time favorite years in music history. It was the start of something fresh. I just wish Eazy-E was still around today making music. That would be interesting to see....what direction he would have taken in after the year 2000. Also, it makes me wonder how Pac would have progressed over the years. With the passing of artists such as Pac,Eazy, and Biggie....it left a huge gap in the scene. it was after Biggie and Pac though....that the music started to change quite a bit. There will never be another time like that. I'm just glad I was around to be able to enjoy music at that point in time.

Back in the day i thought Snoop Dogg was going to be the same in ten years. But he changed his style very soon and as of 2008 he even mixed hip hop with country music and stuff like that. My guess is that people who love hip hop want to hear hip hop, regardless of what else they listen to. 2pac,BIG and Eazy E would probably become as commercialized as Snoop and people remember them as the best rappers ever because they didn't live long enough go Snoop's way.

I can agree with that to an extent. Still, I think that Eazy-E would have more or less faded out of the limelight and brought others into the limelight...as he did with Bone. With the exception fo one LP...Eazy didn't focus too much on music after N.W.A......as opposed to other members. He had ample opportunity to do so but, didn't. To this day, I still think he is one of the most unique rappers of all time. Not because of his words but, because of his verbal style and his stage presence.

2Pac.....Tough one to call there. He never did slow down when it came to chrurning out those legendry studio sessions. He kept them soming until the very end. If anything, he was making use of studio time more so than ever....in the last year or so prior to his death. It's not really fair to compare Pac and Snoop though. Pac was a philisophicla and his words actually had alot to say. As opposed to Snoop....who really didn't come into the game packing anything verbally impressive...and he still hasn't to this day. He has lived off gimicks since day one. Gangsta Rap didn't require true verbal talent. It was all about the image. Once Snoop was locked into the iundustry...he changed his look and style until he took on a whole new persona which in no way resembled the Snoop who wore Dickes and used every opportunity to claim Crips and speak on guns and knives.

Biggie....Out of those three....He was the most likely to commercialize. Everyone from Badboy has always had more potential to conform to a pop image.

Out of every Rappe to every make it big...I feel the worst for Eminem. He constantly has to evolve and progress.Instead of starting out at his best and sliding into gimicks....he has improved his verbal skills everytime he drops a new album and uses less gimick with every album. He has to. He faces more scrutiny than any other rapper...because he is white and he has fine tuned his skillz so well.....that he has to live up to expectations. With every new album that is successful...more people wonder how long he keep this up. In addition to having to worry about keeping his skill far above par....he has to worry about personal attacks on his charactor. Every word he says is put under a microscope....because people are waiting for him to screw up in any way possible. Thats why he doesn't do many interviews. I'm saying that he is going to do one last album and then retire...and move into something else....be it producing....or starting a label...or whatever. He just can't do more than one album and occasional features with other artists. Well, there is a about 3-books worth of random thought for you there.....enjoy. Peace!!!!

Oh.....one last thing....My actual favorite of all time isn't seven signed or a household name. He is one of tyhe greatest lyricists of all time....and refuses to sign to a label....Immortal Technique. If you have not heard of him...check into it.
