Can Hip Hop stand the test of time?

Can Hip HOp stand the test of time? Awwwwwww this is the question, with the current state of hip hop music and sales in a digression can it withstand all this microwaved, commercialized bullsh*t that comes out today. some say it will die out completely within the next 5 or 10 years? Not hard to belive either considering Hip Hop music isn't as profitable as it was 5 or 10 years ago? Were not exactly seeing cats sell 9 million like when 50 cents grdt debuted. Where does Hip Hop stand.

Whit Artists like 50 Cent & G-Unit hiphop won't survive for long everybody have to realise how crappy their music is and then hiphop will survive but as long as people buy his CD's hiphop won't live for long

Yeah, i think that it won't last long too. Lot of good albums droppin' this year,so when Dr. Dre,Jay Z,The Game,Papoose and Cassidy and some like them go to retirement, the hip hop will be only fake music,so yeah, pretty much it' will dissappear within the next few decades.

I'm from Denmark so excuse my bad English, but...

IMO I think commercial garbage artists such as 50 Cent and MIMS have destroyed the mainstream's view on hip-hop. The mainstream no longer sees hip-hop as standing for unity, creativety, words over violence and all that. Today hip-hop stands for gangster life, guns, bitches, and money - which is NOT possitive Sad

I hope soon there'll come a new mainstream hiphop artist who once again raps about the olds possitive deeds of hiphop. Gangsta glamourization is killing hip-hop as we know it!

i love dudes like lupe that keep it mainstream but still talkin on social issues and more stuff than just guns money bitches. hip hop wont die as long as theres underground cats keepin it legit. if mainstream hip hop died there would also be the positive effect of big companies trying to commercialize the "ghetto" lifestyle.

Uh, well hip hop aint dead yet, it took a brutal blow but I believe it's comin back, and hell ya it'll stand against the test of time, we just need some new artists with new ideas, everyone's shit seems the same, but I think it's gonna get stronger not weaker, at least I hope, it's just at a bad time right now.

Hip hop will never die, all that will change is that hip hop heads will avoid the mainstream at all costs, (bar a few artists here and there) the internet will keep real hip hop alive. Listen to the unsigned ones, or indie labels.. that's real hip hop and I think everyone who cares already knows that..

Man yall got to see through the music and take a look at the people behind it.
Big countries like USA or germany need money, so they need people who are buying everything. So those hip hop guys are telling those little children, that you don't need to be good at school or something like that, to bee rich, so they're manipulating the children to get them buy those baggie pants and all this stuff... never thought of it???

Mainstream hip hop won't die, every state needs it!!!
