help sampling

So I kind of need help.

I want to take a beat out of this song, and loop it.

Not exactly sure what the best method is. I was thinking I could import it into Cubase Sx3 and cutting the portion out, then looping it.

Are there other methods, or tutorials, on how to cleanly sample the beat?

Thanks.

well just cut it out with audition or cubase, recycle or whatever, also you should chop it and make it different than it is in the song Smile

Cool, thanks.

I was also wondering, what's the concept behind slicing beats? Is there a difference between slicing and chopping/cutting?

The way your doing it is the most simplest way to do it if your a beginner. Do it that way until you get the concept and then you can edge the sample to your liking. Slicing and chopping is pretty much the same thing.

if you use fl you must open edison en drag the song into the interface. select a part of the song en then click on the button all to the right. than you must click on that button and hold the mouse (i'm dutch so my english is not very good) and drag it to your step sequencer if you want to loop it i don't know exactly how you must do that but i think you must click on your sample and turn on 'use loop points'. good luck!

To do my sampling I just use a really simple program like Audacity for example and record the audio out of the part I want. Its not the best method, but easy for beginners and gets the job done
