Recording booth/room?
where do you all record for vocals and stuff. how do you deal with background noise? i know some people who do it in a coat closet and stuff padding under the door for more insulation. are there better ways?

The first way to deal with noise is nice cables and a good mic. Make sure your mic isnt near any power supplies or electronics. Set up your environment for quality acoustics by closing it off and have nothing running, even your cell phone. _________________ WHISTLER MUSIC.....

Even just something like blankets to the walls and covering stuff in a room creates better quality.

Nope. No Noise.
The room needs to be closed.
Maybe there's a problem with the Mic.

your best bet if your on a low budget like myself is to have a booth in a closet. put some sort of padding on the walls (blanket, etc) to avoid light echoing and more padding under the door to avoid excess air

If you don't want to spend allot of money you could try a corner of a room, and use 2 mattresses (used or new) to make a lil' room in the corner and set up your mic in it

First-off you'll need a good mic, not a great mic but a good 1, then you'll need an inclosed area.. somethin' like a closet or somethin?lol.. yeah, then I'd say you should get ProTools, and a PRE-AMP, so you can somewhat mix your vocals, it's a simple set-up but it'll work until you can buy somethin' better and or upgrade that. It should cost like 900+ though, lol...
