Through the Wire Season 2 Inspired by HBO's The Wire
This past February I dropped an instrumental album "Through the Wire" which was a mixture of my beats and scenes from the Wire. It got a lot of dope feedback and I just recently put together "Season 2" and I'm selling it for $6 over @ Kil889.Bandcamp.com and at CD Baby. I mos def want feedback and prayerfully ya'll will support me on this one. I know in 2011 paying for music is like paying for air, but do me this justice and stream the album and if you felt led to support, my family and I thank you, if you dig it but are on some "I don't pay for music" I just ask that you pass it on to heads who you think will appreciate it. I figured it's now or never to try my hand to see if doing music can actually be a full time gig or at least bring in some good side loot to help my addiction of buying records, kicks and fitteds. Good looking and please give me some feedback, even if you hate it. Also check out the promo video for one of the songs "Stray Rounds"....

And here's some feedback I got from the first Through the Wire:
“Classic instrumental album! It was like I was transported into the rough streets of Baltimore. I recommend the album to fans of the show and real Hip Hop.” Final Score: 5 outta 5” – Illmuzik.com
“These beats go hard!” – KevinNottingham.com
“There’s special attention paid to scope, with whole scenes from the show rolling-out overtop his production; it’s almost like he’s re-scoring his favorite moments from the show.” – Baltimore City Paper
“This is an instrumental, concept album laced with clips from the show as well as samples from street Hip Hop artists that are thoughtfully placed throughout to relate the instrumental it’s on. This doesn’t feel like every other Wire rip off out there. It’s a collection of beats that has a classic vibe to it but doesn’t sound dated.” – Undersoundmusic.net
“ARE YOU FUCKIN’ SERIOUS? A MIXTAPE CONSISTING OF HIP-HOP BEATS AND SAMPLES FROM THE WIRE, THE BEST SHOW TO EVER HIT THE TV? Y’ALL ARE SO CRAZY FOR THIS ONE.” – Weworemasks.com
“The concept behind this is brilliant. Taking my favorite genre, hip hop and combining it with my second favorite show ever, The Wire, and making a sample filled excursion of the two is just awesome.” – NothingSoundsBetter.com
“I was a little reluctant at first listen but it is a dope idea/concept. Kil is able to capture the feel of the show through each track on the album. 22 tracks for anyone is no small task, let alone 22 conceptual tracks that are actually good. Think about it like this - your favorite rap artist doesn't give you 22 tracks on an album. But, if he did, picture him giving you a great product with all the beats from the same producer and they all fit his project. That's amazing if you ask me. So, if you are a fan of "The Wire" you should check it out and if you are artist looking for some work, check it out and hit him up. Without question, this dude has talent.” – Music Is Life Magazine
“One of the grittiest TV series of our generation, skillfully matched with some of the slickest, REAL hip hop production I’ve heard in years. Through The Wire is dope! 5 MPC’s outta 5" -DJ Kyle "Koz" LaRue, Cox Radio Orlando, TenShareMedia.com
“This project is very enjoyable and it introduces the audience to the production range of Kil. This project is pieced together very well and you can tell that Kil was meticulous in regards to selecting the best sound bytes and beats to match the sound bytes from the Wire.” – Praverb.net
“One of the main reason we started Beat Tape Wednesdays was this project right here. The homie brought two of his hobbies together, which is the critical acclaimed TV show The Wire and making beats and the two come together beautifully. And if I didn’t mention before, these beats bang!” – The Concrete Floor _________________ www.myspace.com/kil889
