Who Needs Gear?
I got a grip of shit.
A cheap Yamaha PSR for comin up with melodies and what not, a MXL condenser mic, 10 input mixer, a set of moniters and a reciever with nice towers for comparring the sound on different sets, and my PC.
The software I get the most out of is FL Studio. Ive used Cakewalk and Reason but theyre not for me. Acid Pro is dope for takin samples cuz it helps find the tempo. Shit is never accurate and often u have manually place the markers but it helps a lot when trudgin through all those sound waves. And I use Sony Sound Forge for all the EQ and effects, and mastering the vocals. _________________ WHISTLER MUSIC.....

I honestly dont think I could get the usb to work either. Set up a long time ago. But on my computer I cant find any options, including volume record through usb. I can link my keyboard to a channel though and use it like u would a drum machine. _________________ WHISTLER MUSIC.....

I was able to get a 2 different midi keybaords at my local Best Buy store for $100 each. one was an m-audio http://www.m-audio.com and the other was a yamaha.
They both had USB midi and work great.

Exactly! Who needs gear...
I have: Röde NT-1 mic, Behringer compressor, and pre-amp. But that's just for recording vocals.
The only thing I really need to make beats is FL Studio 7, especially after they included the Edison wave editor. Now I have no need for Adobe Audition anymore... _________________ Gear: HP Pavilion dv6000, Akai MPC1000, M-Audio Audiophile, M-Audio Trigger Finger, M-Audio KeyRig 49, FL Studio 8.
