A recent Forbes article Hip Hop Cash Kings lists the top 20 earners in hip hop. The expected main stream stars like Jay-Z and 50 cent topped the list with $34 and $32 million respectively, but eight producers are holding it down in the top 20.

  • #4 Timbaland $21 million
  • #5 Dr. Dre $20 million
  • #8 Kanye West $17 million
  • #9 Pharrell Williams $17 million
  • #10 Scott Storch $17 million
  • #14 Lil Jon $14 million
  • #16 Jermaine Dupri $12 million
  • #17 Swizz Beats $12 million

Producers are beginning to gain significant exposure and more share of the fame and fortune from the artists they work with.
